How customers opt in to text messages from Modern Mahj Michigan

Opt-in documentation for carrier verification. Last updated October 27, 2026.

Where consent is collected

Customers reserve seats for classes and events through our online booking form (Acuity Scheduling, modernmahjmichigan.as.me, also embedded on event pages at modernmahjmi.com). After entering a phone number on the booking form, the customer sees two separate, optional, unchecked consent boxes:

  1. Appointment & waitlist texts (collected by Acuity Scheduling): “By checking, you accept Terms of Service, acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and consent to receive SMS communications about your appointments and/or waitlist availability from this Acuity Scheduling business. Acuity Scheduling is a division of Squarespace. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt-out.”
  2. Marketing texts (sent by Modern Mahj Michigan via Squarespace SMS Campaigns): “Yes, text me about new classes and events from Modern Mahj Michigan. Up to 4 texts a month. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Not required to book. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy above.” Directly below both checkboxes, the form shows clickable links: “Terms of Service: https://modernmahjmi.com/terms-of-service | Privacy Policy: https://modernmahjmi.com/privacy-policy”

Neither box is required to complete a booking. The customer’s phone number, the checkbox answer, and the date and time of consent are stored with the booking record. Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

What subscribers receive

Occasional announcements of new class dates, special events, and open seats — up to 4 texts a month. Example: “Modern Mahj Michigan: New date added! Mahj 101 Group Class, Sun Nov 1, 11 am at Sidetrack Bookshop in Royal Oak. Reserve at modernmahjmi.com. Reply STOP to opt out.”
